People who are diagnosed in the early stage of Alzheimer’s and dementia want and need to remain healthy and active. They need to find that crucial balance between independence and interdependence. And they need a trusted care partner who can help them achieve that balance.
Tapestry Pioneers offers three unique threads:
Pioneers Passport Program
The Pioneers Passport Program draws form the variety of program and event choices within the Whitney Place campus and out in our community – education, hobbies, literature, art, dining and more.
Each individual’s program is developed at “move-in.” and is specifically designed to meet that person’s particular goals and interests. Each is reviewed every Monday with a care team member, incorporating clinical and social team collaboration.
Pioneers Social Care Advantage
In the Social Care Advantage, social service activities and methods are incorporated, with a focus on resident motivation that includes:
- Coping skills
- Strategies to limit misplacing items
- Completion of tasks
The emphasis in this program is on “Connection to Community.” Each participant has regular opportunities to participate in community enrichment, wellness and cultural programming.
In addition, there are adult education courses in partnership with local colleges, as well as supported access to local early stage dementia experts.
Pioneers Wellness Track
The Pioneers Wellness Track is designed specifically to reduce stress, promote times of comfort, improve sleep and enhance emotional stability. Elements of the program include mindfulness, massage and relaxation programs.
Participants have access to a full range of wellness programs including:
- Excursions to wellness classes
- Yoga and Tai Chi
- Consultation with personal trainer, including monthly check-ins over coffee
- Daily relaxation (hand massage and meditation)
- Personal and group nutritional consultations bi-weekly
