Intergenerational Programming

Supervised activity for older adults and youngsters together.

Intergenerational programming bridges two special populations -- the very young and the young at heart -- for the benefit of both. By integrating them on a regular basis for recreation, we help enlighten young minds, keep older ones active and stimulated, and provide frequent opportunities for sharing ideas, skills and affection.

Both Northbridge’s and Natick’s Adult Day Health Centers share their campuses with a SALMON Center for Early Education, allowing the children to visit the seniors throughout the month. Bringing everyone together for story time, arts and crafts and sing-alongs lifts the mood and brightens the day for everyone.

Each participant feels a sense of purpose, friendship, and overall acceptance.
