I am delighted to guide the Northbridge campus alongside the talented, dedicated team treating our residents, clients and their families with care and concern. Working for SALMON as a physical therapist and department director led me to train as an administrator here. My positive experiences and background in different service levels has me confident that we offer people the best place for care as well as the best place to work.
I have been part of SALMON Center for Early Education’s caring and dedicated team since our doors opened in 1996. Starting as lead teacher in the infant room, I became lead teacher/assistant director in the toddler room and now support our wonderful team of nurturing, patient and devoted educators as the Center director. When working with children, the very best reward is seeing them smile and experience joy while knowing that their lives have been enhanced in positive ways.
If my child does not nap, what will he or she do during the rest time?
Children choosing not to sleep or who awaken early will be offered quiet activities for the remainder of the rest period. Please keep in mind that if children are tired, they will fall asleep on their own. It is our policy to let the child’s needs determine their napping schedule.
Do you celebrate holidays?
The richness of our diverse enrollment is reflective of the community in which we are located. To support our efforts to recognize and celebrate the uniqueness of our families, we strongly encourage family members to share their holiday traditions with the classroom. While holidays are not an integral part of our curriculum, honoring each child and family’s uniqueness is important to us.
Do you celebrate birthdays?
Yes. We celebrate meaningful events in our children’s lives. Parents are welcome to bring a special treat for their child that day. We encourage parents to provide healthy alternatives to cake/cupcakes. Staff are well equipped to give suggestions.
Do you use a formal curriculum?
We use the current curriculum frameworks established by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and the Department of Education. The preschool classroom uses the Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences and the Massachusetts Frameworks for Math and Literacy. Infant and toddler program uses the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines for Infants and Toddlers.
