Community Relations Director
I consider it an honor and a privilege to help guide people considering a transition to assisted living, and the trust families place in our team through the process is never taken lightly. Working on the Northborough campus over the past several years, I’ve come to know so many wonderful Residents and those close to them. Together, we make connections that give Whitney Place the warmth of home.
Yes, as a Resident, you may elect to keep your primary care physician and any other doctors you have or begin a new relationship with a local physician or specialist; it’s entirely up to you.
What is Tapestry Program for Memory Care?
The Whitney Place Tapestry Program, offered at our Natick, Northborough, Sharon and Westborough locations, is an innovative program for seniors living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. The program is designed to help those with memory impairment live life to the very fullest by minimizing its impact from day to day.
What is the difference between assisted living and a skilled nursing center?
Assisted living gives Residents a little help with their daily routines, while they maintain their personal independence and social interactions.
Skilled nursing centers (nursing homes) give Residents with long-term medical needs 24-hour care in a home-like environment, and recreation as their abilities allow.
Are there visiting hours? May I have overnight guests?
There are no visiting hours; Whitney Place is home to our Residents. You’re welcome to have guests visit whenever you’d like, including overnight in your apartment.
Is there a nurse on call overnight?
Yes, there is a nurse on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
What’s my financial obligation when I sign a lease? What’s the notice period if I want to move out?
At the time of lease signing, you are responsible for your first month’s rent (pro-rated to the day of the month you join us), last month’s rent and our one-time assessment fee. Our notice period is 30 days, which may be given at any point during the month.
Do you have PT/OT/SLP/Hospice on-site?
Yes, we have a full range of services available on-site at our locations.

What types of dementia care training is provided to staff?
Our team receives training well beyond state requirements for this specialized care. During their orientation, all assisted living staff are introduced to our Tapestry Program’s methods and facets.
Those caring directly for Tapestry Residents receive additional training annually, with strong emphasis on communication skills. They learn best practices, supporting Residents individually and in group situations through the introduction of familiar items for memories and a calming influence; Vigorous Mind intellectual games; daily exercises; focusing on Resident interests; and much more.
