Weekday Care in MetroWest
A Welcoming Place for Fun and Attention
We don’t want the spouse, parent or friend we care for to be alone or without assistance, but we all need time to work, catch our breath or attend to other responsibilities. Participation in SALMON Adult Day Health Center at Natick is the answer.
It’s a place where seniors and others who live at home take part in social activities, enjoy hot meals, and receive the help they need with their daily healthcare routines. Adults with physical handicaps or hearing, visual or mental impairment are welcome.
Our Adult Day Health Center can help through:
- A positive environment with compassionate staff members
- Days spent with friends, socializing and participating in a range of activities
- Routine medical monitoring from a nurse
- Medication management and dispensing, including injections
- Recognizing and addressing subtle changes in physical and mental health to allow early intervention
- Coordination with our VNA services as needed
- Greater peace of mind for family members
On average 40% of the attendees in our Center are men and we hold men’s discussion groups and organize field trips together as well.
We encourage a two-day per week minimum. That consistency allows our participants to maintain a routine and acclimate to the Center more quickly. In addition, frequent socialization has proven to be of general benefit.
We accept private pay along with:
Private Long-Term Care Insurance policies sometimes include Adult Day Health services. Please refer to your policy for details regarding Adult Day Health coverage.
MassHealth/Medicaid will cover 100% of the cost of Adult Day Health services after the individual has been screened by Baypath or Springwell or HESSCO Elder Services.
BayPath, HESSCO, and Springwell Elder Services can help defer the cost for those who are not MassHealth/Medicaid eligible. For more information, please call BayPath at (508) 573-7200, HESSCO at (781) 784-4944 or Springwell at (617) 926-4100.
We provide two hot, nutritious meals daily, along with a variety of alternatives, accommodating special diets.
There is a pre-evaluation where the Center director gets a full history of interests to address individual needs and suggest alternatives. We look to cover all interests and abilities and are always open to recommendations; just ask for a copy of our calendar of events to see what’s offered.
The Center plans activities which enrich the day for participants, regardless of their ability to engage, and the team is trained to approach each of our clients verbally or through nonverbal cues, as needed, to connect successfully with them.
No, we keep in touch with the person’s own primary care physician quarterly or more often if needed.
