The Willows Awarded for Funding Local Education

Community supports progress for local youth

The Willows at Westborough is being recognized for supporting local education by the Corridor Nine Chamber’s “Champion of Education” awards.

The Willows at Westborough, a SALMON Health and Retirement independent living community, located on the Westborough campus alongside Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center and Whitney Place Assisted Living and Memory Care, received an honorable mention for raising scholarship funds benefitting graduating high school seniors through its annual golf tournament.

Approximately 150 members of Corridor Nine Chamber businesses participate in the annual event, which has been ongoing for over 30 years. During that time, the tournament has raised over $200,000 for local students.

The Willows has been nominated and honored several times throughout the years for the award, which recognizes local organizations for their financial support, volunteer service, business expertise or contributions to education for students in the local community.

Ben Colonero, SALMON Health and Retirement staff member and golf tournament chairman says the Corridor Nine Chamber “has always had a strong connection to the community it serves, so it’s a great chance to collaborate with them and give back to the schools in the towns of our fellow businesses.”

Family owned and operated SALMON Health and Retirement has been serving Central Massachusetts since 1952. To learn more about SALMON’s continuum of care with services on multiple campuses, visit www.SalmonHealth.com or contact us here.
