SALMON Health and Retirement is pleased to introduce an additional service offering for our continuum of care: SALMON Private Care Options. This supplementary range of services was formed to meet the various and changing needs of people choosing to remain in their private residences as they age.

“This new choice for home health is a much-needed service,” states SALMON CEO Matt Salmon. “It’s another significant example of how we are continually striving to meet the changing needs of our Clients, whether in their current house or their homes on our campuses.”

SALMON Private Care Options home health aides, personal care homemakers and homemaker/companions are carefully screened, professionally trained and expertly qualified to provide a range of services, including personal care, companionship, homemaking, meal preparation, medication reminders and more kinds of assistance customized to individual needs.

Private Care Options is directed by Betty King, RN, BSN, MSN. Betty’s career began in home health care; eventually, she made a transition to a regional human resources role servicing skilled nursing centers for a national post-acute health care company after earning her master’s degree in healthcare management. Ironically, she worked with Greater Milford VNA and Hospice, partnered with SALMON VNA & Hospice since 2012, on a project during graduate school, so Betty says accepting the position here was “a bit like coming home.”

“I grew up in Hopedale and I live in Holliston,” she explains. “For most of my career, I was working in Boston or around New England and I had to travel a lot. SALMON is local, so now I’m working with people I went to high school with and seeing patients who are friends of my parents. These connections are so important to me and it was a SALMON’s strong community presence that drew me here. I’m eager to bring Clients the ‘SALMON touch’ in family care they expect and deserve.”

“I’m thrilled about Private Care Options and excited to welcome Betty on board,” says Director of VNA & Hospice Mark Surprenant. “Her background positions us well for success in delivering the high quality of services SALMON is known for providing.”
